12 start Emergency appeal for Haiti - You may make a contribution by placing an envelope marked "Haiti Relief" in the Sunday collection. The contributions will be recorded and receipted in the parish and then forwarded to the Chancery Office, where they will be transferred to the emergency fund for Haiti set up by Development and Peace. The Federal Government will match dollar-for-dollar any donation made to Canadian charitable organizations between Jan. 12 and Feb. 12, 2010. Please include your full name, mailing address and envelope number (if applicable). Remember the people of Haiti in your prayers and through a generous contribution.

12 Valentine Tea - St. John´s Catholic women’s League, 94 Patrick Street, will hold their annual Valentine Tea on Fri. Feb. 12th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. soup, sandwiches and dessert served for $5. Everyone welcome.
16 Pancake Tuesday. Save February 16th, Shrove Tuesday, for our annual Pancake Supper. Your Parish Hall Committee will be serving fresh pancakes, sausage, butter and maple syrup, homemade apple crisp with coffee or tea and fruit punch for children. To accommodate your busy schedule, supper will be served between 4:30 - 6:30pm. Adults $5, children 3 - 12 yrs. $2.50. Sign-up sheets at the Church entrance.
18 CWL News On Thursday mornings during Lent the CWL will host a coffee/tea social hour after mass in the meeting room beginning Feb 18. All are welcome.
21 Vespers with Archbishop O´Brien and Elect of our Archdiocese. All Parishioners are invited to celebrate Sunday Vespers and the rite of Election at St. Mary´s Cathedral at 4 p.m. on the 1st Sunday of Lent. 21 Feb. Archbishop O´Brien will preside and formally welcome all those who have been preparing for Baptism at Easter, or for Full communion. After Vespers all are welcomed for refreshments and to meet our elect and Candidates at St. Mary´s Parish Centre on Brock/Clergy Streets.
24 On Feb. 24th, Archbishop Brendan O´Brien will give a presentation on his trip this past summer with CCODP to Zambia and Burundi. CCODP is supported every year by the Share Lent collection. 26 The second course in St. Andrew School of Evangelization, Emmaus, will be offered at Holy Rosary Parish, 169 North Park St., Belleville, from Fri. Feb. 26 at 6:30 p.m. to Sun. Feb. 28 at 3:30 p.m. The cost is $75. per person, meals are includes. There are no course prerequisites for taking Emmaus, such as the “New Life” weekend. 5 WORLD DAY OF PRAYER UPDATE - The churches in West End Kingston have re-organized. The host church, this year, for the World Day of Prayer will be ST. PETER'S ANGLICAN CHURCH 4333 Bath Rd. Fri. Mar 5 @ 2:00 p.m. The prayers this year have been prepared by the women of Cameroon All are welcome.
6 Cardinal Levada to Visit Kingston- news from Newman House. This coming March, His Eminence William Cardinal Levada, Perfect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith, will be visiting Kingston as the St. John Fisher Visitor. The principal event of the Fisher Visitor program is the St. John Fisher Dinner. It will be Sat. Mar. 6th at 7:30 p.m. in Ban Righ Hall on Queen’s University campus. Cardinal Levada will deliver the Fisher Address, entitled this year: "Five Hundred Years After St. John Fisher: Pope Benedict´s Initiatives Regarding the Anglican Community". The cost of tickets for the dinner is $60. per person, or $550 per table of ten. There will be a cash bar. 9 The students of Holy Cross Catholic Secondary school are putting their imaginations to the test for a charity event no one will forget. The K to K Charity Eco-Wardrobe Show will be held on March 9, in the Holy Cross cafeteria at 7:00 pm. All proceeds from this event will support K to K, an organization of teachers and students from Holy Cross who travel from Kingston, Ontario to Kingston, Jamaica, and volunteer in an economically disadvantaged community. The cover charge for the Eco-Wardrobe Show is $5/person and donations will be graciously accepted. K to K is an opportunity to see the wearable art that students have designed for each runway. The motto for the runway show is “re-use the old to make new”. Please come and see for yourselves what the students of Holy Cross have come up with and enjoy a night of wearable art for a great cause.
11 ATTENTION SENIORS On Thursday, 11 March from 1:00-3:00 p.m., the "Entertainment to Seniors Committee" of the St. Joseph´s Parish Council will provide an afternoon of musical entertainment, featuring the local talent of Chris Murphy and Jon McLurg. Seniors are welcome to join us in St. Joseph´s Parish Hall, 392 Palace Road, for an opportunity to enjoy local talent and light refreshments. Come and bring a friend or two! A free-will offering will be accepted.

26 Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Fish Fry provided by Mike Mundell, is planned for Friday, March 26 from 5 – 7:00pm. This buffet is a full course meal including dessert. Tickets: $14 for adults; $7 for children (5 – 12 yrs) and children under 5 free. Tickets are available at all weekend Masses March13/14 and March 20/21 or by phoning the Parish Hall at 613-389-3085.
